I’ve been writing for most of my life. Stories have always fascinated me – the creation of worlds, and the characters who inhabit those worlds. My inspirations are rather eclectic, including Charles Dickens, J. R. R. Tolkien, Terry Pratchett, Timothy Zahn, Jim Butcher and many, many others. And that’s not including the many filmmakers who’ve shaped my imagination – greats like Steven Spielberg, Akira Kurosawa, Joe Johnston, John Ford, Ron Howard … I could be here a long time listing off my influences. Suffice to say, I’ve picked up a lot of inspirations from a hodgepodge of media, genres and works, from Seven Samurai to The Dresden Files.
When I’m not writing or reading, you can expect me to be far too engrossed in playing video games (RPGs and adventure, mostly), trying to learn how to do origami, laughing uproariously at bad jokes with my friends while playing board games or taking long walks through the beautiful countryside of Eastern Washington State.
